It was pretty evident after Clint Corey’s first words were Jo Jo White that I would forever bleed Celtic green. Don’t believe me. My favorite shoe? The 1986 Converse Weapon worn by Larry Bird. The greatest power forward ever to play the game? Kevin McHale (sorry Tim Duncan). My worst adolescent memory (other than knocking over my parent’s china cabinet and repeatedly fumbling with the latch on Kelly Davison’s bra)? Magic’s “Junior Sky-Hook” in Game 4 of the 1987 NBA Finals.  Unfortunately, for the past twenty years it seems as though the leprechaun has been on hiatus seeing as there has been infinitely less to cheer about with regards to the C’s.  That all changed this off season when we acquired one of the purest shooters and scorers in the history of the game in Ray Allen and 2004 NBA Most Valuable Player, Kevin Garnett. Along with perennial All-Star Paul Pierce Celtic fans are hoping this triumvirate approaches the legendary on court effectiveness of Bob Cousy, Tommy Heinsohn and Bill Russell.    In fact, in the upcoming seasons not only is Celtic tradition at stake, but also KG’s tenuous legacy. It cannot be argued that the “Big Ticket” is one of the greatest talents ever to step foot on the basketball court.  That said, a championship would elevate him on the list of all time greats above the likes of Karl Malone and the “Round Mound of Rebound,” Charles Barkley. Two championships? Well, two rings means the argument could be made that Kevin Garnett was the greatest power forward ever to play the game.

There is no better sports city in the world than Boston and the fans are proof.  I represent those drunken, diehard, and shamrocked revolutionaries.  We like our women to know more about the Sox than socks.  Our fashion is red, white, and blue with the occasional green on those cold Winter nights.  With an NFL dynasty in progress, a historic hoops franchise, and the most beloved organization in all of baseball, we know the importance of winning.  I will cry with you, laugh with you, and argue with you because that’s what Boston sports do to your soul.  Then I wake up and do it all over again.  My sports knowledge is endless, but it is the passion that makes me worthwhile.  I’m opinionated, biased, and stubborn but I will pour my Boston heart out every day.

I won’t, however, let Michael Vick walk my dog, let Barry near my medicine cabinet, or Tom Terrific near my women.  This is the Boston Truth.

It hasn’t always been this easy to be a Boston Sports fan.  We’ve had to endure the worst years, always hoping for next year.  Well next year is now and last year was yesterday and what happens today I can only write about tomorrow because it hasn’t happened yet.  I grew up in a small town 20 miles outside of

Boston, but you might as well have stamped a ‘Chowdahead’ on my behind.  My love for all things

Boston has my wife in fits and my 2 year old wondering why a grown man can act like an infant. I personally believe that the two most boring days are the ones before and after the All-Star Break.  So that’s when I take my vacation.  Otherwise it’s Game On all Year Long!

Could this be the year Boston takes home 3 rings in 3 sports?  Sorry Bruins…maybe next year.
